Boys Bowling State Champions

Congratulations to the Lake Hamilton High School Boys Bowling Team for winning the 2017 6A/7A State Bowling Championship. The championship was held February 14 in Lowell, Arkansas.

The Wolves placed 2nd in the 6A/7A Central Conference Tournament in Cabot on February 8th to qualify for state. Cabot won the conference tournament by 712 pins over the Wolves. Zach Ross made the All Conference team with a 583 series.

During the state tournament, the Wolves were in 3rd place by 39 pins after the individual games were played. Cabot was leading and Fort Smith Southside was in 2nd. The team of Zach Ross, Hunter Blythe, Trestin Blythe, Blaine Moss, Ryan Byrd and Wade Green shot a tournament high Baker game of 234 to take a 2 pin lead over Cabot. The Wolves then shot a 210, 177 and 171 to beat Fort Smith Southside by 18 pins and Cabot by 50. Cabot was the reigning 6A/7A state champions and had won 5 consecutive state championships from 2012-2016.

Leading the Wolves to the state title were Trestin Blythe (622 series), Ryan Byrd (611), Blaine Moss (585), Hunter Blythe (585), Zach Ross (571) and Wade Green (522). Trestin Blythe also made the 6A/7A All State team.

This is the 3rd state championship for the Lake Hamilton Boys team. The Wolves won back to back state championships in 2007 and 2008.
